The 2013 Toronto Blue Jays Honda Super Camp comes to Waterloo
TORONTO, May 22, 2013 /CNW/ - The ultimate baseball experience begins on Friday, May 24 for approximately 130 participants at RIM Park in Waterloo, Ontario. Kids aged 9-16 will be learning their skills and techniques from former Toronto Blue Jays alumni and former Major League players such as Roberto Alomar, Sandy Alomar Sr., Homer Bush, Lloyd Moseby, Duane Ward & Devon White. Each participant will receive a Blue Jays photo card supplied by Honda Canada, a hat, t-shirt, instructional manual along with a leather pro model Roberto Alomar Series baseball glove.
Jays Care Foundation believes every child deserves the chance to get involved in organized sport. In partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada and Toronto Community Housing, Jays Care subsidizes registration fees for Blue Jays Baseball Academy Rookie Leaguers in each of the Honda Super Camps to help remove financial barriers to participation. Blue Jays Baseball Academy Rookie League is entering its 25th season and will reach more than 5,000 children and youth across Canada. During each Super Camp, a representative from the local Boys & Girls Club will be presented with a dedicated bat for the Club on behalf of the Blue Jays Baseball Academy.
From May 20 - 25, 2013, fans can participate in the Grow the Game Drive on bluejays.com/growthegame and join the Toronto Blue Jays in helping give children and youth access to baseball who would not otherwise have the opportunity to play. Thanks to loyal Blue Jays fans, more than 9,000 kids across Canada will get physically active, and learn the game we all love, through the Blue Jays Baseball Academy Super Camps, Instructional Clinics and Rookie League this year. With a minimum donation of $20, fans will receive a 2013 Blue Jays commemorative pin as a thank you for helping Grow The Game.
