MONTREAL, Sept. 24, 2013 /CNW/ - The 9th Montreal edition of the Wishmaker Walk for Wishes will take place on Sunday, September 29, at Maisonneuve Park. Once again this year, the event will be hosted by Children's Wish ambassadors Lori Graham and Stéphane Bellavance. Several hundreds of walkers and runners are expected for this festive family event and anyone can still register as a team member or individually at wishmaker.ca to step into the magic of wishes for the benefit of The Children's Wish Foundation.
A festive day for all ages
On the occasion of the Montreal Wishmaker Walk for Wishes, several activities will be offered. In addition to clowns, face painting, inflatable games, creating a collective mural painting, one food truck and a photo booth, a magic show by Théâtre Magique will warm your hearts and bring back your inner child. Finally, a music performance that will close the festivities with a bang will be given by Shine.
"Everyone can take part in the Wishmaker Walk for Wishes" says 9 year-old Antoine Deland, himself a Wish child who will attend the Montreal walk. "Invite your friends and family members today to join us on September 29, so that together we can bring joy and hope to all the children living with a serious illness. Come help the Children's Wish Foundation grant more wishes!" To get involved, walkers and runners can simply visit www.wishmaker.ca to register and start collecting funds.
A HOPE bearing event
To date, the annual Wishmaker Walk for Wishes has given many children the possibility to realize their most heartfelt wish. "For the 9th Montreal edition of the Wishmaker Walk for Wishes, we hope to establish new fundraising records that will allow us to grant their wishes to even more children living with a life threatening illness said Mrs. Judith Dontigny, interim Director of the Children's Wish Foundation in Montreal. The renewed commitment of every participant allows us to create the magic of a wish in the lives of families who are deeply affected by the illness of a child, and we are extremely grateful for that."
The Children's Wish Foundation
The Children's Wish Foundation grants the most heartfelt wish to children aged 3 to 17 living with a life threatening illness. Since its beginnings in 1984, the Foundation has granted more than 20,000 wishes across Canada, over 6,500 of which in Québec. Moreover, the Foundation is committed to never turning down an eligible child. This year, the Children's Wish Foundation plans to grant over 1,000 new wishes.
