THE AMAZING RACE Wins the Week with 3 Million Viewers on CTV

TORONTO, Oct. 18 /CNW/ - CTV delivered the top four programs on Canadian television last week led by last night's broadcast of Season 17 of THE AMAZING RACE, which saw a season-high three million viewers (2.99 million) watch the racers visit the high arctic. The remaining Top 4 series of the week were THE BIG BANG THEORY (#2, Thursday, 2.84 million), THE MENTALIST (#3, Thursday, 2.54 million), and CRIMINAL MINDS (#4, Wednesday, 2.43 million), all on CTV.
THE AMAZING RACE anchored a Sunday night lineup that saw CTV win every hour of primetime from 7-11 p.m.:
- At 7 p.m., UNDERCOVER BOSS attracted a season high 1.44 million viewers
- At 8 p.m. THE AMAZING RACE won the night in total viewers and all key demos, with twice as many viewers as BATTLE OF THE BLADES (CBC, 1.4 million)
- At 9 p.m., DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES delivered 2 million viewers to land as the #2 program of the day behind THE AMAZING RACE with A18-34 and all three key female demos
- At 10 p.m., C.S.I.: MIAMI was up 32% compared to last week with 2.17 million viewers, delivering more than three times as many viewers as BROTHERS & SISTERS (ABC/Global; 649,000)
- Additionally, CTV's NFL delivered a season-high 763,000 viewers at 1 p.m.
Meanwhile, CTV had another strong Friday last week, with BLUE BLOODS winning the night with nearly two million viewers (1.94 million) at 10 p.m., an increase of 11% compared to last week and ranking as the most-watched new program of the week. At 9 p.m., CSI: NY drew 1.83 million viewers, up 10% and winning the night among the three key demos.
