MONTREAL, Nov. 24, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - The Association of Municipal Auditors General of Quebec (AVGMQ) will study and comment on the report from the Commission of Inquiry into the awarding and managing of public contracts in the construction industry. The report was made public today by the government.
We should point out that the AVGMQ filed a brief with the Commission on July 7, 2014, in which it outlines the concerns of its members and its recommendations with respect to the quality of the managing of public funds in municipalities with populations of 100,000 or more.
The AVGMQ brief, which deals in particular with the major problems detected in the awarding of municipal contracts, takes note of the many recommendations made in this regard and addresses ethical considerations. It also deals with the challenges encountered by municipal Auditors General in carrying out their mission.
The document is available on the Association's website at the following address: http://avgmq.com/publications.php
