The Astral Media Radio Caring For Kids Radiothon: $1,630,247 for The
Children's Young Patients

MONTREAL, May 3 /CNW Telbec/ - The Montreal Children's Hospital Foundation and radio stations Virgin Radio 96, CHOM 97.7 and CJAD 800 are proud to announce that as part of April 29 Astral Media Radio's National Day of Giving, the annual Caring for Kids Radiothon raised an outstanding $1,630,247 for The Montreal Children's Hospital of the McGill University Health Centre.

Live from The Children's, dozens of patients and their families courageously shared how the Hospital's professionals saved their lives. Hundreds of volunteers answered phones and helped to ensure the event's success.

Responding to the call of their favourite hosts, thousands of listeners joined the "Circle of Hugs" with a monthly donation of $18. The final result clearly demonstrates their generosity. In seven years, more than $13 million has been raised for The Children's thanks to Virgin Radio 96, CHOM 97.7 and CJAD 800.

All funds raised will go towards meeting the most urgent needs of the Hospital, which include medical and surgical equipment and funding for essential programs.
