The Bank of Canada releases the June issue of the Financial System Review Français

OTTAWA, 6 June 2016 /CNW/ - The June issue of the Financial System Review will be released on Thursday, 9 June 2016.

Description:

The Financial System Review (FSR) features the following sections:

Risk Assessment: This section of the FSR outlines the Governing Council's evaluation of the key risks to the Canadian financial system. After a brief survey of macrofinancial conditions, the principal vulnerabilities and risks are examined. The objective of the FSR is not to predict the most likely outcomes for the financial system but to raise early awareness of key risks and promote mitigating actions.

 

Reports: The June issue features the following reports, which examine, in greater depth, selected issues of relevance to the financial system:

  • Large Canadian Public Pension Funds: A Financial System Perspective
  • Securities Financing and Bond Market Liquidity

Lock-Up:

At 8:30 (ET), journalists are invited to review the Financial System Review, under embargo, at the Bank's head office in Ottawa (please use the entrance at 151 O'Connor Street) and at the regional offices in Toronto (150 King Street West, Suite 2000) and Montréal (1501 McGill College Avenue, Suite 2030). Please be sure to have your press card with you.

For security reasons, those wishing to attend must confirm their presence by calling Media Relations at 613-782-8782 before noon (ET) on Wednesday, 8 June 2016. Journalists who have not registered WILL NOT BE ADMITTED to the lock-up. 

At 09:00 (ET), senior Bank officers will provide background information and respond to questions on the content of the FSR. Information gathered at the session may be used freely in news reports and commentaries, provided it is not attributed to the Bank or its officers. Electronic recording is not permitted.

At 10:30 (ET), the lock-up ends and the embargo is lifted.

Press Conference:

At 11:15 (ET), Stephen S. Poloz, Governor of the Bank of Canada, will hold a press conference at the National Press Theatre, 150 Wellington Street, Ottawa. He will be accompanied by Senior Deputy Governor Carolyn Wilkins.
