Proudly Canadian Made furniture program makes The Brick one of the organization's top supporters
EDMONTON, Jan. 20, 2015 /CNW/ - The Brick is proud to announce it was among Wounded Warriors Canada's top corporate sponsors in 2014, raising and donating $125,000 to the national organization.
"As a truly Canadian company, The Brick stands beside the men and women of the Canadian Armed Forces – whether they're active-duty members or valued veterans," said Jim Caldwell, President of The Brick.
"We're honoured to support Wounded Warriors Canada with $125,000 to help the organization continue its important work helping veterans transition to civilian life."
Donations were raised over the course of 2014. During The Brick's Proudly Canadian Made Furniture promotions, which were held three times in 2014, a portion of each purchase of furniture made by Canadian manufacturers was donated to Wounded Warriors Canada.
On top of the Proudly Canadian Made Furniture promotion, The Brick also donated funds, making the company one of the organization's top corporate sponsors for 2014.
"We are extremely proud to announce that The Brick was one of our largest corporate sponsors of 2014," said Scott Maxwell, Executive Director of Wounded Warriors Canada.
"The outpouring of support, both within the company and from the broader public, is further evidence of the care and compassion Canadians have for our ill and injured Canadian Armed Forces members, veterans, and their families. Further, it is through these partnerships that our programs focused on mental health are made possible each year."
The Brick and Wounded Warriors Canada began their partnership in 2014.
About Wounded Warriors Canada
Wounded Warriors Canada is a non-profit organization that helps Canadian Armed Forces members – be they regular force, reservists or retired – who have been wounded or injured in their service to Canada. Through a wide range of programs and services, Wounded Warriors helps to find solutions where gaps have left our soldiers in need. Currently, its primary focus is on mental health and, particularly, the staggering impact of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. Overall, however, its mandate is to help any veteran in need as they transition to civilian life.
