Championing the Canadian consumer, Canada's largest appliance and furniture retailer offers service,
credits for Sears warranty holders and job opportunities for displaced employees
EDMONTON, Nov. 2, 2017 /CNW/ - The Brick announced today increased efforts to serve the Canadian market through the launch of a new appliance service program for customers impacted by the closure of Sears Canada, as well as increased hiring efforts for former Sears employees.
The Brick, with its relationship with all major appliance suppliers, is ready to provide repair services to Sears customers who may be left stranded without repair service options. To help offset the costs for servicing an appliance, The Brick is offering to Sears extended warranty holders a $100 gift card that can be used toward future purchases at The Brick. For Sears customers still covered within the one-year manufacturing warranty, The Brick is offering expedited servicing for most major brands at no cost to the consumer.
"An appliance is a major purchase for a customer, and often they purchase an extended warranty because it offers peace of mind. With the current situation, some customers have been left in the cold," says Dave Freeman, president, The Brick. "We want to alleviate some of this customer frustration by providing an alternative for those who need to have their appliances serviced or repaired. We are here to help."
The Brick is the largest Canadian appliance retailer, with over 200 stores under their The Brick, The Brick Outlet, The Brick Mattress Store, TheBrick.com and Midnorthern Appliances banners. Through its installation and repair division, Trans Global Service, they offer unparalleled repair coverage from coast to coast.
The Brick's health and continued expansion is also the driving force behind its proactive efforts to employ staff who will be displaced by the Sears closure. The Brick is conducting job fairs nationally in markets with Sears store closures to help fill in approximately 300 open positions across the country.
"We have served the Canadian customer for over 47 years and we've been able to do so by listening to their unique and ongoing needs. As a proudly Canadian company, we are honoured to have the continued support of the market, and we are committed to serving our customers and doing what we can to help the industry as a whole," added Freeman.
Starting November 6th Sears customers can call 1-866-331-0433 to book service calls or visit www.thebrick.com/Service for more information. Any Sears staff interested in participating in the job fair can contact [email protected].
