MONTREAL, Feb. 11, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal held the Natural Resources Trade Show on Friday and Saturday, organized as part of its efforts to promote the industry. This event came on the heels of the Strategic Forum, which Nicolas Marceau, Minister of Finance and the Economy, took part in, and a networking cocktail reception with Martine Ouellet, Minister of Natural Resources, in attendance. Ms. Ouellet and Mr. Marceau took the opportunity to reiterate the government's commitment to act fast to clarify its strategies for supporting this sector.
Over 2,500 visitors attended the Natural Resources Trade Show, which offered the chance to meet the main players in this dynamic sector, explore job opportunities and develop new business relationships during one-on-one meetings with major prime contractors.
"We are delighted that once again this year we were able to help make connections between businesses and job seekers by bringing together work providers, product and service suppliers and business people in one place," said Michel Leblanc, President and CEO of the Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal. "The responsible and sustainable development of our natural resources is an opportunity for the city; the Greater Montréal business community will continue to mobilize to maximize the economic spinoffs of this sector."
