The Canada Company Scholarship Fund Available to the Family of Corporal Nathan Cirillo
TORONTO, Oct. 27, 2014 /CNW/ - Canada Company confirmed today that the young son of Corporal Nathan Cirillo, Marcus Cirillo, is eligible for the Canada Company Scholarship Fund.
Established in October 2007, the scholarship fund recognizes the selfless sacrifice of Canada's brave military personnel in their service to Canada, and assists the children of military parents killed while serving on active duty with the Canadian Armed Forces. The fund provides up to $4,000 per year for up to four years to support their post-secondary education.
In addition, Canada Company has received pledges for both the Cirillo and Vincent families and those donations will be forwarded directly to them through established channels.
"These recent tragedies remind us that our men and women in uniform sacrifice so much for Canada both overseas and here at home," said Blake Goldring, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of AGF Management Limited, and Founder and Chairman of Canada Company. "Canada Company was established to ensure that the men and women in our Canadian Armed Forces receive the widest support, care and recognition that they deserve, and today, as always, we stand shoulder to shoulder with them and their families," said Mr. Goldring.
For those wishing to attend, the Toronto Garrison will be holding a Remembrance Service at St. Andrew's Anglican Church at the corner of King and Simcoe Streets in Toronto. This service, which is open to the public, will run concurrently with the Remembrance Service for Corporal Nathan Cirillo in Hamilton. Attendees are asked to take their seats no later than 1145 a.m. Please note that seating is limited.
