The Canadian Public Relations Society honours Jean Valin APR, FCPRS with the
2010 CPRS Award of Attainment
REGINA, June 16 /CNW/ - The Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) recognized Jean Valin APR, FCPRS, Director General of Communications and Marketing at Transport Canada, as the 2010 CPRS Award of Attainment recipient. Valin was acknowledged for outstanding achievement and service in the Canadian public relations industry amongst his peers at the CPRS national conference awards gala on June 15 at the Delta Regina in Regina, Sask.
The CPRS Award of Attainment award is presented to a CPRS member whose personal activities and/or leadership have gone beyond the call of duty or responsibility for an employer or client. The work resulted in a pronounced contribution to the status and acceptance of the public relations function as a whole. In addition to his work at Transport Canada, Valin influenced and shaped the public relations profession in Canada and internationally.
"Jean's dedication to the public relations and communications field is admirable and noteworthy. He fulfills his duties to his employer, the Canadian Government, and takes on additional roles with CPRS and Global Alliance, ensuring that public relations as a profession remains in good standing," said Dr. Terry Flynn APR, FCPRS, Past National President, CPRS. "This prestigious award reflects the high regard his peers have for Jean and his contribution towards public relations."

The CPRS Award of Attainment Award was one of six Major Awards presented at this year's awards gala. The Major Awards recognize exceptional involvement in the public relations profession and candidates are nominated by peers. The awards are judged by the Awards Committee Presiding Officers in consultation with the National President.
