TORONTO, May 30, 2016 /CNW/ - The Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) presented Bruce MacLellan, APR, FCPRS with the 2016 CPRS Award of Attainment during the 2016 World Public Relations Forum. MacLellan, Chairman and CEO of Environics Communications, was acknowledged for outstanding achievement and service in the public relations industry. Today, he was presented with a framed certificate in front of industry peers.
"It's a true honour to receive this Award and I am very grateful to CPRS and all of the people who have been supportive colleagues and good friends over the years. It's important we all work together to advance our profession," said MacLellan.
MacLellan is recognized by the Canadian Public Relations Society for the support he provides to his staff and to others in the profession. He encourages professionals to pursue their APR (Accredited in Public Relations) professional designation, and advocates for the public relations profession overall through his commitment to the mentorship of his junior staff.
"It has been said that the role of a great leader is not to gain more followers; it is to develop more leaders. There is no better way to describe Bruce MacLellan's impact on Canada's public relations community," wrote Daniel Tisch APR, FCPRS, President and CEO of Argyle Public Relationships, in his nomination letter to CPRS.
The CPRS Award of Attainment is presented to CPRS members whose personal activities and leadership have gone beyond the call of duty. The Award of Attainment is one of several noteworthy CPRS awards presented during the World Public Relations Forum. The CPRS Major Awards recognize exceptional involvement in the public relations profession and candidates are nominated by peers.
