Indigo Books & Music Inc. and Random House of Canada Celebrate "Hats Off to Dr. Seuss!"
TORONTO, Feb. 28, 2013 /CNW/ - Indigo Books & Music Inc. (TSX: IDG) and Random House of Canada are partnering on an exclusive campaign, "Hats Off to Dr. Seuss," to benefit the Indigo Love of Reading Foundation while celebrating one of Random House's biggest selling and most beloved brands, Dr. Seuss. Between February 28 and March 31, 2013 proceeds from every purchase of any Dr. Seuss book at Indigo will be donated to the Indigo Love of Reading Foundation.
As a part of the, "Hats off to Dr. Seuss," campaign The Cat in the Hat kicked-off its nation-wide tour by visiting Verdun Elementary School, Verdun, Quebec on Thursday, February 28. The Cat in the Hat delighted and entertained students, ranging in age from pre-kindergarten to grade 1, and donated one copy of The Cat in the Hat for every child, as well as, a selection of books to the school's library. In 2011 Verdun Elementary was selected by the Indigo Love of Reading Foundation as one of 20 schools nation-wide to receive a donation of $64,000 to enhance their library and further literacy in their school.
The Indigo Love of Reading Foundation was established to ensure all elementary school children have easy access through their very own school library to the most essential learning tool, books. Since its inception in 2004, the Foundation has donated $12 million to schools in need across the country, providing access to more than 1,000,000 books for 36,000 children.
