VANCOUVER, March 16 /CNW/ - The Certified General Accountants Association of British Columbia (CGA-BC) has published an information guide on the Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) to assist businesses that are still uncertain about the new tax before it is implemented on July 1, 2010.
The guide covers:
- Tax harmonization across Canada - Application of the HST in B.C. - How to prepare for implementation
Copies of the HST guide can be obtained by contacting CGA-BC. Businesses owners and operators with specific HST issues not covered by the guide should consult a Certified General Accountant.
CGA-BC has publicly expressed its support for the HST and the guide is part of the Association's broader efforts to educate and prepare businesses in B.C. in advance of the July 1 implementation. Earlier this month, CGA-BC hosted a seminar on the HST featuring futurist and economist David Baxter and a panel of Certified General Accountants. The Association is also presenting professional development seminars on the new tax that will run from March to June.
