Success of the 2011 Canadian Championships, brings City Chase back to Halifax on Sept 15th
TORONTO, March 1, 2012 /CNW/ - Thanks to strong local support and participant interest in 2011, City Chase, The World's Largest Urban Adventure Series, will return to Halifax on Saturday September 15th, as the final regional event of the 2012 Canadian Series.
"With the spectacular history, culture, and adventurous spirit that exists in Nova Scotia, City Chase simply had to return" says David Nash, partner, InField Marketing Group, the company that owns City Chase. "We have great local partners, strong support from the city and some unbelievable challenges that will help City Chase return with a bang - a bang that will hopefully echo for many years to come."
The "bang" Nash speaks of will be prevalent as hundreds of teams of two engulf Halifax on September 15th for an unbelievable day of adventure. Participants, or 'Chasers' as they are commonly called, will run, walk and utilize public transit as they try to find and complete ChasePoint challenges scattered throughout the city. Similar to the popular show The Amazing Race, the ChasePoints will present a variety of physical, intellectual, adventurous and humorous challenges that teams must complete within a 6-hour time limit.
"The beauty of City Chase is that anyone can do it," said Nash "Chasers choose their own route, whether to run or take transit, and ultimately whether they are in it for the competition or purely for the experience".
Winners from the event will move on to represent "Team Halifax" at the 2012 Canadian City Chase Championships that will take place in Whitehorse, Yukon at the end of September.
Through the adventures of the 2012 Series, City Chase aims to raise over $320,000 for their official charity partner, Right To Play - an organization that promotes the values of sport and play to develop a sense of community in areas less fortunate than ours.
The Halifax City Chase is supported locally by GoodLife Fitness, Optimyz Magazine, Metro Transit, and The Waterfront Development Corporation. Companies interested in supporting the event are encouraged to contact [email protected].
A creation of InField Marketing Group, City Chase is a global consumer event series, offering unique experiential 1-day adventures in various major markets throughout the world.
