OTTAWA, Oct. 26, 2018 /CNW/ - Ms. Kelly Raymond, who is currently a Service Director for The Children's Aid Society of Ottawa (CASO), will assume the position of Executive Director. She succeeds Barbara MacKinnon, who has been with the agency for 15 years. Born in Montréal and fluently bilingual, Ms. Raymond has more than 26 years of experience in the field of child welfare and has pursued graduate and post-graduate studies from McGill University, the Université du Québec en Outaouais and the Université de Montréal.
It is following a rigorous process that the candidacy of Ms. Raymond was retained after she had successfully managed the various stages defined by the Board of Directors selection committee. "Kelly Raymond is an outstanding manager who has proven her skills over the course of her many years with three children's aid societies. She is familiar with the region and is aware of the current issues, economic, social and demographic, impacting the First Nations, Inuit and Métis and the Afro-Haitian-Canadian community. She is the right person to lead the Society, with the community and our provincial peers, to build a world class child welfare system. Her many skills make Ms. Raymond an undeniable asset to the CAS of Ottawa," said CASO's Board President Tracy Wrong.
"It is with great enthusiasm that I accept this position with The Children's Aid Society of Ottawa, a large, dynamic and recognized institution for the quality of its engagement with children, youth and families, of its services and collaboration with the various communities," says Ms. Raymond. "I look forward to working with staff, foster caregivers, volunteers, community partners and the Board to continue promoting and building on evidence-informed practice, quality assurance outcomes and a respectful, productive work environment through an ethical and anti-oppressive culture," states Kelly Raymond.
