The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada partners with Ferrari Maserati of Vancouver and the Diamond Rally to create #ChildrensWishForce
VANCOUVER, April 29, 2016 /CNW/ - The BC & Yukon Chapter of The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada is proud to partner again with the Diamond Rally and Ferrari Maserati of Vancouver. For the second year in a row, on May 14th, luxury and supercars will help raise funds for a very deserving wish child and rally up Canada's most scenic highway, the Sea to Sky highway.
"Children's Wish is very proud of these partnerships," says Jennifer Petersen, Children's Wish BC & Yukon Chapter Director. "It's an honor be invited back to the Diamond Rally, and to be chosen as the charity of choice by Ferrari Maserati of Vancouver. Together we will change a sick child's life."
Last year, Diamond Rally supporters teamed up to grant #JoeysWish, raising over $60,000 – more than double what they set out to raise, and bringing in the funds to grant several more wishes. This year wish kid Nick, a 14-year-old Star Wars and supercar fan, is the inspiration to kick up the horsepower and create the 'Children's Wish Force'!
Nick's story is one of courage, strength and insight. At a very young age, he lost his father and grandmother to cancer. Since then he has borne witness to several friends and relatives fight and beat the disease which has allowed him to draw on their strength and determination to fight his own battle.
Nick, at 13, faced a sinus tumor called naso rhabdomyosarcoma. All of a sudden, Nick's life went from one of being a normal active kid, to committing to 43 weeks of chemo therapy and an additionally intense and arduous radiation treatment schedule. Ever since that moment, through all the surgeries, tests and treatments Nick has dreamt of realizing his most heartfelt wish: to go to a tropical paradise with his mom, step-dad and 5 brothers and 'chill' on a beautiful beach.
Inspired by the joy of a wish, Ferrari Maserati of Vancouver wants to unite supercar enthusiasts and local businesses to grant Nick's Wish. Two Ferraris and a Maserati will be wrapped in logos and representing the "dark side" and the "light side". On May 12, the Children's Wish Force will be unveiled at the Ferrari Maserati of Vancouver dealership in anticipation of the Diamond Rally two days later.

About The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada
The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada is the largest all Canadian wish granting charity dedicated to granting wishes to Canadian children between the ages of 3 and 17 who are diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. For more than 30 years, Children's Wish has worked tirelessly to grant heartfelt wishes to nearly 25,000 children and their families.
This year, the Children's Wish Foundation of Canada expects to grant over 1,000 new wishes across the country with the help of volunteers and generous donors; that is approximately three wishes each and every day, all year long. Each wish is the child's most heartfelt wish, and carefully structured to meet the particular needs of the child and their family.
Already this year, we are experiencing unprecedented increases of wish referrals through our strong medical community relationships for our wishes granted to children with life-threatening illnesses. Now more than ever, we are encouraging Canadians to donate and support The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada to help us continue to grant the next most heartfelt wish. Children's Wish is a national charity with chapters in every province and territory. Visit www.childrenswish.ca for more information and to donate.
