The community renews its support to Dr. Julien - $1,744,000 raised for the 15th edition of its Guignolée Français
MONTREAL, Jan. 20, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - The 15th Guignolée du Dr Julien ended this week with a total of $1,744,000 raised in support of the Fondation du Dr Julien's three centres of expertise (CSPC Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, CSPC Côte-des-Neiges and Garage à musique). This amount represents approximately 45% of the funds required to offer free quality care and professional services to children and their families living in vulnerable environments where our centres are located.
"I am extremely touched by the unwavering support of the community and the great generosity of all donors. It is a testament to the public's extraordinary support, but also vital to pursue our mission with children", said Dr. Gilles Julien, social pediatrician, founder and president of the Fondation du Dr Julien.
The entire team at Fondation du Dr Julien wishes to especially thank the 500 volunteers who helped out at the Guignolée, many of whom bravely faced the cold, as well as all its partners, co-founders Ève Christian (also ambassador) and Caroline Lafrance, ambassador Christian Bégin, the team of Samedi et rien d'autre, hosted by Joël Le Bigot and aired on ICI Radio-Canada Première, as well as 91.9 Sport FM's host Jean-Charles Lajoie and his team.
Other community social pediatrics centres certified by the Fondation du Dr Julien also held their own guignolées on December 16, raising a total of $696,673. Each centre will use these funds to offer direct care and professional services to children living in difficult circumstances in their community, in addition to the various services already offered in each region.
