The Condominium Authority of Ontario appoints a CEO and Registrar to lead the Authority

TORONTO, Dec. 28, 2017 /CNW/ - The Board of Directors of the Condominium Authority of Ontario (CAO) is pleased to announce that Robin Dafoe has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Registrar of the CAO.

"Robin has been instrumental in the development of the CAO over the past year as the interim Executive Director/Registrar," says Board Chair, Tom Wright. "In this capacity, she provided strategic leadership to successfully launch the Authority and oversee the implementation of Ontario's first online dispute resolution service, the Condominium Authority Tribunal (CAT). We are confident that through Robin's leadership, the Authority and the Tribunal will continue to provide valuable services and resources as the CAO focusses on service excellence, innovation and new approaches to addressing the needs of condo communities."

In her role as CEO and Registrar, Robin will oversee the CAO's key functions and services. Her primary responsibility is to ensure the CAO has the required expertise and leadership to serve Ontario's condominium communities by providing services such as online self-help information and tools, condominium director training, and dispute resolution services through the CAT.

Over the past year, Robin was also the interim Executive Director/Registrar of the Condominium Management Regulatory Authority of Ontario (CMRAO), successfully leading the launch of this new administrative authority. 

Robin has spent more than 20 years in the Ontario public service working in several ministries and agencies where her strong strategic focus and collaborative leadership skills helped to enhance programs and services to meet clients' needs. She was the former Director of Corporate Policy and Tribunal Relations at the Ministry of the Attorney General, where she worked with administrative justice executives across three tribunal clusters to help achieve their modernization goals. Prior to that, she was the Implementation Director for the Ontario College of Trades, a new regulatory body for apprenticeship and trades certification in Ontario.

Robin has a Master of Laws from Osgoode Hall Law School, a Masters of Business Administration from Schulich School of Business, and a Bachelor of Arts in Law and Psychology from Carleton University.
