The Cora Foundation raises $160,000 for Breakfast Clubs of Canada
A ray of sunshine to feed Canadian kids!
MONTREAL, Feb. 7, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - As soon as the tally was in for the annual Cora Foundation fundraising campaign in support of Breakfast Clubs of Canada, it was clear that the results were going to bring plenty of sunshine to Canadian schoolchildren as they start their day. The cross-Canada campaign raised a total of $160,000, which was made up from the sale of Cora sun icons in the restaurants of the network at $1 a piece between November 14 and December 31, 2011, and from Cora's suppliers.
"I think we have surpassed all previous records with this year's fundraiser," says Daniel Germain, President-Founder of Breakfast Clubs of Canada. "What's more, since the campaign was held across Canada, it helped us promote the Clubs' mission throughout the country. It's a partnership that we're very proud of and I'd like to thank Mrs. Cora and her team for the enthusiasm and commitment they have shown year after year. In short, a huge thank-you!"
"If there is anyone who is more convinced of the importance of giving children a good, nourishing breakfast before class starts," adds Cora Tsouflidou, President of the Cora Foundation, "it's probably Daniel Germain! I am very proud to help the Clubs because I remain convinced that starting the day on a full stomach is the very minimum for any child. Thanks to the entire team of Cora Restaurants and its suppliers who took part in the campaign - your dedication to the cause warms my heart."
