20 new muralists, 4 days of music and tons of free activities
On St-Laurent Boulevard from June 12 to 15, 2014
MONTREAL, June 9, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - MURAL the international Public Art Festival and Société de développement du boulevard Saint-Laurent (SDBSL) invite the public to the 2014 edition of the festival, which will take place from Thursday, June 12 to Sunday, June 15 on St-Laurent Boulevard in Montreal.
20 new murals will be created live during the 4-day event. Transforming the scenery of the Main since 2103, these additions will bring the total of these large-scale works close to 40. For the occasion, St-Laurent Boulevard will be close to traffic between Sherbrooke Street and Mont-Royal Avenue, transforming the area into a vast pedestrian space where festival artisans and local merchants welcome visitors from around the world.
Produced by LNDMRK Agency, the festival benefits from the logistical and financial support from Arrondissement du Plateau Mont-Royal and the City of Montreal as well as a major partnership with Ubisoft.
The 2014 edition of MURAL International Public Art Festival gathers world-renown visual artists originating from 7 different countries. The artists are Kashink (France), 123 Klan (France), Inti (Chili), Bezt de Etam Cru (Poland), Cyrcle (United States), 2501 (Italy), Alexis Diaz (Puerto Rico), Seth (France), Vilx (France) and, Le diamantaire (France).
MURAL also counts on local talents from the city, the province and the country, participating in this edition are Zilon, Alex Scaner, Zema, Fred Caron, Zoltan, Kevin Ledo, Bryan Beyung, Miss Me, Stikki Peaches, Mathieu Connery, Alex Produkt, Éric Clément et RR&DB.
MURAL 2014 – a rich experience of street arts of all types
The second edition of MURAL is a deep immersion in the world of street art. 4 days of free outdoor musical performances in the festival's central zone (parking area across from Excentris theatre), along with exhibits and displays, a roster of art films, shows and special events round out the 2014 MURAL experience.
