The Cross-Canada Study and Go Abroad Fairs kick off in Toronto on September 21st, 2013, and will visit Ottawa, Halifax, Vancouver and Calgary
VANCOUVER, Sept. 10, 2013 /CNW/ - Top universities from the UK, USA, Australia, Switzerland, the Caribbean, China, Canada and many other countries will take part in the Study and Go Abroad Fairs to meet with students who are interested in studying abroad. Top-ranked universities exhibiting in the fairs include UCL (ranked 4th in the QS World University Rankings 2012/13), King's College London, University of Melbourne, University of New South Wales and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. The Vancouver and Calgary expos will also host a delegation of top Chinese universities.
Exhibiting institutions will showcase programs in Medicine, Law, Pharmacy, Hotel Management, Business, Technology, Science, Public Health, and Culinary and Liberal Arts, among other fields. Students looking for gap year and other travel options such as volunteering, work abroad, internships and language training are encouraged to visit the Travel Zone. The fairs are open to the public and admission is free of charge.
"Visitors to the Study and Go Abroad Fair have a unique opportunity to explore a full range of post-secondary options, and learn about admission requirements, available scholarships and exciting destinations for both studies and travel," says Katie Idle, Director of Sales and Marketing.
The growing trend of Canadians studying abroad is fuelled by students who are attracted by the greater variety of programs and have a desire to learn about other cultures and experience living abroad. They also know that their résumé will be that much more competitive when entering the work force. As well, the "Gap Year" concept has caught on in Canada and researchers now say that students who take a year out are more focused on what they want to study, and less likely to change or quit their university program.
The Study and Go Abroad Fair will also feature free information seminars throughout the day on a wide range of topics.
Exhibitor profiles, scholarship information and seminar schedules for the STUDY AND GO ABROAD FAIR can be found online at www.studyandgoabroad.com, along with details of our Grand Prize Draw. Prizes include an international Air Canada flight, and a volunteer trip to Africa offered by Developing World Connections.
