Collection of the Four of the World's Rarest Single Malt Whiskies Available Exclusively at the British Columbia Liquor Distribution Branch - Priced at $139,000
VANCOUVER, Feb. 16, 2015 /CNW/ - The product of more than 150 years of craftsmanship and 45 years of careful coddling, The Dalmore Constellation Collection – The 60s Set, a collection of four of the world's rarest single malt whiskies, will have its own special launch on February 17th at the British Columbia Liquor Distribution Branch's flagship Signature Liquor Store, located at 39th Ave & Cambie Street in Vancouver.
The limited edition set of 4 vintages sells for $139,000. Each vintage is housed in a spectacular hand-blown crystal decanter, engraved with the year of distillation, age and cask number and adorned with a solid silver royal stag, the emblem of The Dalmore Distillery since 1867. Each of the four vintages has its own array of flavours to suit diverse tastes.
The 60's Set includes:
There are only 67 to 237 bottles being released for each vintage and this is the first and only time a set of all 4 vintages has been offered globally as an individual assemblage of The Dalmore Constellation Collection – The 60s Set. The ageing process of these natural cask, undiluted whiskies has left each with an individual colour ranging from deepest mahogany to honeyed gold.
This is a release whose like is seldom seen in Canada. With single malt whisky an increasingly coveted luxury spirit worldwide, aficionados truly appreciate the quality, extraordinary craftsmanship and limited availability of The Dalmore. The Dalmore Distillery has been ranked among the top 25 global malt brands by International Wine and Spirits Research and named the number two in the Rare Whisky Investors index for 2014, up 3 places since 2013 by the independent authority, Rare Whisky 101. It is now recognized as the top operational distillery and only sits behind the iconic silent still Brora, closed in 1983.
"With instability in the stock markets worldwide, investors are looking for alternative sources of asset appreciation," said David Robertson, Director of Rare Whisky at The Dalmore Distillery. "Whisky as an alternative investment has shown remarkable growth, driven by the limited releases of some of the world's oldest and rarest stocks from distilleries with impeccable heritage, exceptional product quality and exclusivity. At the forefront of this movement is limited release of The Dalmore Constellation – The 60s Set featuring four of the world's rarest single malt whiskies."
About The Dalmore
Located on the northern shores of the Firth of Cromarty, deep in the spectacular Scottish Highlands, The Dalmore Distillery has been producing exceptional single malt whisky since 1839, and houses some of Scotland's more precious and rare whisky stocks. A bottle of The Dalmore 62 Sinclair sold in 2012 in Changi Airport, Singapore, for US$250,000, making it the most expensive bottle ever sold in retail. The first whisky to break the six-figure barrier, The Dalmore Trinitas, was launched in 2010 with only three bottles made available. Two were sold for $156,000 and the final bottle was acquired by Harrods of London and subsequently sold for $187,000 within six months of launch.
The release of The Dalmore Constellation Collection – The 60s Set marks the integration of The Dalmore into the portfolio of Mark Anthony Brands in Canada.
