VANCOUVER, March 13, 2013 /CNW/ - A new collection of some of the world's rarest single malts has launched at the British Columbia Liquor Distribution Branch's (LDB) flagship Signature liquor store located at 39th & Cambie Street. For the first time in Canada, The Dalmore has released the Constellation Collection - the brand's very best whiskies created at its iconic Scottish Highland distillery between the years 1966 to 1992. The rare collection, valued at $218,500, will officially go on sale March 27 at 6:30pm.
The Dalmore Constellation Collection is comprised of 18 individual vintage expressions which have spent their lives finessing in the finest casks from around the world before being bottled at natural cask strength and at natural colour, ensuring that none of the collection's character has been diluted.
Each expression is housed in a spectacular hand-blown crystal decanter, which has been engraved with the year of distillation, age and cask number. Adorned with a solid silver royal stag, the emblem of The Dalmore distillery since 1867, each decanter is a true work of art.
The Dalmore Master Distiller, Richard Paterson comments: "The Constellation Collection is an extremely rare and precious offering. In selecting these casks, we have identified our brightest stars from our darkest warehouses. Although much has changed since 1966, what has not is the consistency of quality inherent in each and every Dalmore expression."
This rare Canadian release is made possible by the LDB in partnership with Authentic Wine & Spirits Merchants. LDB Spirits Portfolio Manager, Adele Shaw, highlights the exclusive character of this release: "As a trade partner, we are delighted to introduce the Constellation Collection to Canada at a time when rare bottles of whisky are recognized for their high craft and collectability. Establishing excellent relationships with our suppliers translates into the ability to offer our BC Liquor Stores customers a wide selection of products to suit every budget. We are proud to be the only retailer in Canada to host the Constellation Collection. We encourage all of our customers to visit our 39th and Cambie location to view this exclusive collection where it will be on display until it is offered for sale on March 27."

About The Dalmore
Located on the northern shores of the Firth of Cromarty, deep in the spectacular Scottish Highlands, The Dalmore Distillery has been producing exceptional single malt whisky since 1839 and houses some of Scotland's most precious and rare whisky stocks. A bottle of The Dalmore 62 Sinclair sold last year in Changi Airport, Singapore, for $194,000, making it the most expensive bottle ever sold in retail. The first whisky to break the six figure barrier, The Dalmore Trinitas, was launched in 2010 with only three bottles made available. Two were sold for $156,000 and the final bottle was acquired by Harrods of London and subsequently sold for $187,000 within six months of launch. www.thedalmore.com
