Industry pioneer to help propel DATA's new strategic growth plan
BRAMPTON, ON, Feb. 27, 2012 /CNW/ - DATA Group Inc. (TSX: DGI) ("The DATA Group", "DATA") is proud to announce the appointment of highly respected industry leader Alan Roberts as Vice-President, On-Demand Services Operations.
Alan comes to The DATA Group with an extensive background in digital print, publishing and marketing communications. He is a digital process pioneer who has helped lead the migration from traditional offset print to digital technologies, including variable data imaging, data analytics and integrated web-to-print-technologies. His career includes various high-level positions at The Printing House, Patient News Publishing and Xerox Canada, as well as previous experience at DATA.
As an early technology adopter, Roberts has many firsts among his accomplishments. These include implementing the first IGEN in Canada; developing the first print-on-demand go-to-market strategy; developing the first large-scale customer satisfaction program; and providing leadership for the first web-to-print system in North America.
He attributes his success to the fact that, "I am an absolute zealot about Raving Fan Service and have spent much time with the Ken Blanchard Company in California, learning how to operationalize it."
He joins The DATA Group at a time when the company has embarked on a transformational strategic growth plan that emphasizes the development of new marketing and document management-related, technology-driven solutions. In 2011, a dedicated Digital and Direct Marketing Solutions team was formed and two new solutions — cross-channel marketing and digital photobooks — were launched. In addition, the company acquired The Fulfillment Solutions Advantage Inc. ("FSA"), a Markham, Ontario-based direct marketer and its subsidiary, FSA Datalytics Canada Inc. ("Datalytics"), a provider of web-based direct marketing solutions and related data analysis. DATA will continue to focus on developing new innovative products for 2012.
"Alan's wealth of experience and unshakable enthusiasm for exceptional customer service makes him a perfect fit and an invaluable asset to our operation," said Michael Suksi, President and CEO of The DATA Group. "As our VP On-Demand Services Operations, he will assist us in streamlining our operations to better serve our digitally-savvy customers who demand new revenue-generating solutions and further reduced cost benefits. Alan will be focusing his efforts on our Eastern operations. We are very pleased to welcome Alan on board and look forward to sharing future firsts together."
