Tech sector veteran will lead expansion of DATA's document management services
BRAMPTON, ON, April 16, 2012 /CNW/ - DATA Group Inc. (TSX: DGI) ("The DATA Group", "DATA") is proud to announce the appointment of technology sector executive and leader Ian Halliday as Vice-President, Document Process Management.
Ian joins The DATA Group with a background that is extremely well suited to the company's growth plans. He has strong general management, team building, product development, selling and collaborative skills. Ian's resume includes building professional services businesses in electronic document management, Enterprise Content Management (ECM), document imaging, workflow, mobile and wireless applications. In the process, he has gained experience in the Asian, European and North American markets. His career includes senior-level positions at IBM, Keane Canada, The Innovation Group and ARC Business Solutions, where he has been a proven success leading the launch of new products and services on numerous occasions.
He attributes his success to the fact that, "in each situation, I have been fortunate to work with outstanding individuals. Together, we built strong, purpose-driven teams that delivered exceptional results. The potential for The DATA Group in this market place is tremendous. Bringing together the right people will allow us to capitalize on this. I look forward to working closely with the DATA team, adding my experience, commitment and passion to the momentum, presence and market share that The DATA Group has clearly established.
Ian joins The DATA Group at a time when the company has embarked on a transformational strategic growth plan that emphasizes the development of new document management and marketing related, technology-driven solutions. In 2011, the company made significant progress in the marketing area, creating a dedicated Digital and Direct Marketing Solutions team, launching new digital marketing services and acquiring The Fulfillment Solutions Advantage Inc. ("FSA"), a Markham, Ontario-based direct marketer and its subsidiary, FSA Datalytics Canada Inc. ("Datalytics"), a provider of web-based direct marketing solutions and related data analysis. DATA is now planning similarly proactive development of its well established and successful document management services program.
"Ian has the experience, high standards, results orientation and cultural fit with The DATA Group to make him an ideal leader of our new document process solutions offerings." said Michael Suksi, President and CEO of The DATA Group. "As our Vice President, Document Process Management, Ian will lead the development of new, technology related services such as Electronic Content Management (ECM) and document process outsourcing solutions that will enhance the value we provide to our document management clients. These areas fit well with our growth plan because they complement our existing solutions while adding high growth, technology oriented products and services to The DATA Group's portfolio. In 2011 we said that we planned to launch new services to augment our document management solutions and Ian's hiring is a key step in fulfilling that commitment. We are very pleased to have Ian as part of our team. In the coming months we look forward to formally launching our new offerings. Ian will be reporting to me and will become part of our Executive team."
