QUÉBEC CITY, June 9, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - A source of considerable pride, the Québec Entrepreneurship Contest (QEC) fosters the spirit of entrepreneurship in order to help build a proud, innovative, committed and prosperous Québec. For 17 years it has mobilized the resources of the education, economic and social systems in Québec's 17 regions and promoted entrepreneurial initiatives, in order to inspire more people to believe in themselves, transform their ideas into action and achieve fulfilment.
Kudos to all 43 000 student participants!
In addition to giving local, regional and provincial winners enhanced visibility, the Québec Entrepreneurship Contest has just implemented a measure designed to applaud the initiative of the 43 000 elementary and secondary school students who carried out entrepreneurial projects this year. Each of these students received an official Méritas award marking his or her participation in a project. "Taking part in an entrepreneurial initiative is a meaningful experience for all young people; it helps them develop their identity, encourages perseverance and fosters a sense of belonging to their school. That is why the QEC has decided to give the participants in the Student Entrepreneurship division of the Contest this Méritas award in order to showcase their achievements, show the other students in their school what they have done and make their families proud of them," explained Manon Théberge, the president-director general of the QEC, who maintained that the new measure will be continued in future editions of the Contest.
The Contest and its partners will thus continue their efforts to promote pride and a sense of enterprise among young people!
