MONTREAL, Sept. 4, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - The Grand Bal des Vins-Coeurs 2015, the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation's awaited autumnal rendez-vous, will be held on September 10 at Uniprix Stadium. Extremely popular within the arts and business communities in Montreal, tickets for the Foundation's flagship event have already sold out.
The event will also serve to pay a special tribute to Marc Poulin, president of Sobeys Inc. & Empire Company Limited and to the IGA grocers members of the Bassin Laurentien Grocers Association. Thanks to the "$2 Does the Heart Good", IGA grocers, their suppliers and their clients have raised an impressive $8.1 million for the Institute's Foundation over the past 29 years. Thanks to their generosity, involvement, and dedication, they have provided an important contribution to the Montreal Heart Institute's outstanding reputation and commitment to innovation.
The success of the Grand Bal des Vins-Cœurs, presided by Mr. Poulin and his grocers, is also made possible thanks to the dedication of the event's co-presidents: Joëlle Boisvert, Robert Coallier, Jean Gattuso, Bruno Lambert, Tom Little, François Olivier and Claude Tessier.
The event promises to be an unforgettable evening thanks to two of the Foundation's long-standing partners: the Cirque du Soleil and the SAQ. The Cirque du Soleil will deliver a breathtaking performance at Uniprix Stadium which will be followed by a performance by Jorane. Guests will then get to enjoy a gourmet dinner accompanied by prestigious wines carefully selected by experts from the SAQ. For the event, the Foundation has also greatly benefited from the invaluable contribution of its Platinum Partners: Scotiabank and Oliver Wyman.
This year again, many celebrities including Stefano Faita, Josée di Stasio, Christian Bégin, Mitsou Gélinas, and Isabelle Maréchal, will attend the Grand Bal des Vins-Cœurs.
Since its creation in 1977, the Foundation has donated more than $200 million to the Montreal Heart Institute, one of the most renowned cardiology centres in the world, for the benefit of all Quebecers.
