WHAT: Surviving the Teen Years with Dr. Peter Marshall, Psychologist and Author of Now I Know Why Tigers Eat Their Young WHEN: Tuesday, April 13th, from 7-9pm WHERE: Peterborough Public Library, 345 Aylmer St. N.
Dr. Peter Marshall, child psychologist and former teenager himself, has amassed an abundance of practical information and advice on all aspects of adolescent life. Barbara Coloroso says, "With wit and wisdom, Peter give parents practical, useful and thoughtful advice to help their teenagers grow into responsible, resourceful and resilient people who treat themselves and others with dignity and respect." He will discuss teenagers' transition from childhood to adulthood and the drive for independence that can reek havoc on family life. He will also discuss the role of praise in supporting a teen's self esteem, different parenting styles and difficult topics such as sex, cliques and values. Ultimately he helps parents connect with their teens with a lot of humour along the way.
