Staples Advantage Survey says 80% of businesses are putting on a party this year
Staples (Nasdaq: SPLS)
MISSISSAUGA, ON, Dec. 11, 2014 /CNW/ - A recent survey conducted by Staples Advantage Canada, the business-to-business division of Staples, found that 80 percent of organizations plan on hosting a holiday party for employees this year, a 20 percent increase over last year, perhaps reflecting economic improvement. However, the vast majority of associates surveyed, 83 percent, said they do not expect to receive a holiday bonus this year.
"Clearly organizations are feeling optimistic about the year ahead and are giving back to their employees in a way that they can," said Scott D'Cunha, Vice President Marketing, eCommerce and Communications for Staples Advantage Canada. "The company holiday party is an excellent way to improve morale without breaking the bank."
The survey also showed:
- 15 percent of associates polled received a holiday bonus last year.
- 88 percent believe receiving a bonus would greatly improve office morale but over 90 percent wouldn't consider a career change for not getting one
The survey also revealed that that 46 percent of employees plan on purchasing a gift for a colleague, while 35 percent of associates will purchase one for their boss.
Staples Advantage is making it easy to get in the holiday spirit with a Win Your Tech Wishlist contest.
