The Hudson's Bay Company and Burton have collaborated on a Limited Edition
Snowboard
TORONTO, Nov. 26 /CNW/ - The Hudson's Bay Company has partnered with Burton to create the first official Hudson's Bay Co. Burton Snowboard. Just in time for Christmas the snowboard makes an exciting holiday gift. The partnership evolved from the two iconic companies shared passion for quality, heritage and longevity. As the oldest retailer in North America, The Hudson's Bay Company more than exemplifies all of these hallmarks. Further, both brands share a history of authenticity and pioneering in their own rights, with Hudson's Bay 300-year legacy of trade and retail combined with Burton's 30-year history of pioneering and growing the sport of snowboarding.
In looking at ways to blend these two iconic cultures from a design standpoint, it was quickly evident that all roads pointed to the Hudson's Bay Multi Wool 4 Point Blanket. As a native Canadian, Burton's Chief Creative Officer Greg Dacyshyn was intimately aware of the blanket's legendary status and felt strongly that it was the perfect platform to build the board around.
"The Hudson's Bay Company Point Blanket remains one of the oldest products recognized on the market as a symbol of Canadian tradition and history," says Bonnie Brooks, Chief Adventurer of the Bay. "Our vitality is deeply rooted in the stripes and heritage of our brand. We are proud to share a part of our history with such an iconic company like Burton."
Hudson's Bay Co. Burton Snowboard brings the classic design of the 4 Point Blanket to life, integrating its styling into a high performance snowboard. The top sheet of the board features a digitally printed photo of an actual Hudson's Bay blanket, to really bring its texture and spirit to the surface. And layered on top of that is a very traditional customized crest, integrating the names of both brands into the design. Finally, the base duplicates the iconic color stripes of the blanket with its four wide bold stripes. The final outcome is clean, classic and a true collectible for snowboarders and Hudson's Bay collectors alike.
Hudson's Bay Co. Burton Snowboard is based off the DNA of the Burton Custom 158, one of the most popular selling boards in the Burton lineup. The Custom board is a long-time team-rider favorite and can be ridden all over the mountain with maximum performance and fun. From free riding and powder to snowboard parks, half pipes and rails, it really is an all around amazing board with an incredible ride. The board is available at select Bay Stores and retails for $795.
