The Imagine Project, Herbie Hancock's New Recording and Video Release,
Redefines Globalization
TORONTO, June 25 /CNW/ - The Imagine Project is the latest release from the Grammy Award winning artist and musical innovator Herbie Hancock. The unprecedented international recording and video project features collaborations with over a dozen superstars including Anoushka Shankar, Seal, Pink, Dave Matthews, The Chieftains, and James Morrison. Utilizing the universal language of music to express its central themes of peace and global responsibility, the collaborations combine Hancock's genre-defying musical vision with the "local" identity of cultures from around the world.
Hancock explains, "Music transcends the barriers between people, it appeals to what we have in common...Globalization is here but we have to think more about the kind of globalization we want and not the one that's handed to us."
