The IRCM Foundation welcomes Marie-Hélène Nolet - Ms. Nolet from the Business Development Bank of Canada joins the Board of Directors Français
MONTREAL, June 21, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Marie-Hélène Nolet, Assistant Vice President at the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), was elected to the IRCM Foundation's Board of Directors yesterday during its annual general assembly.
"We are very happy to welcome Ms. Nolet to our Board," said the Foundation's President, Alain Mayrand. "Her experience and her knowledge of the business world will undoubtedly contribute to our Foundation's reach and influence."
Marie-Hélène Nolet is Assistant Vice President, Special Projects - Corporate Relations at the BDC. As such, her main responsibility is the implementation of The Montreal Group - an international association of development banks whose mission is to meet the needs of small and medium-sized businesses.
"I accepted to join the IRCM Foundation's Board of Directors without hesitation," added Ms. Nolet. "I will now have an opportunity to support biomedical research in one of the country's best institutions."
About Marie-Hélène Nolet
Before joining BDC's Venture Capital team in 2006, Ms. Nolet worked for Hydro-Québec CapiTech Inc. (Hydro-Québec's investment subsidiary), and Cesky Mobil a.s. in the Czech Republic, the country's third-largest wireless operator. In the past, Ms. Nolet was successively president and chair of the board of the Junior Chamber of Commerce of Montreal, and member of the executive committee of the Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec. She also served as chair of the Foundation of the Junior Chamber of Commerce of Montreal and did volunteer work for Défi sportif. Ms. Nolet currently sits on the boards of directors of dance company O Vertigo and the Canadian Club of Montreal, and is also a member of the advisory committee of Premières en affaires magazine. Marie-Hélène Nolet is a CFA and has a bachelor of commerce from McGill University.

Also created in 1967, the IRCM Foundation (www.ircm.qc.ca/fondation) raises funds to support the Institut. The major fundraising campaign, Give for Life, aims to support the IRCM's research priorities in upcoming years. The campaign's objective has been set at 15 million dollars.
