MONTREAL, May 27, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Today, across the province of Québec, over 9 000 participants took on the 2012 Leucan Shaved Head Challenge, presented by Jean Coutu, to show their solidarity with cancer-stricken children and their families.
The event reached a milestone at the provincial level: at 1:30 pm, the hair of its 50,000th participant since the first edition fell under the razorblade. To date, the number of participants in the Challenge could fill the Bell Centre... twice! And it just keeps on getting bigger: numerous shaving sites will welcome participants over the next few weeks, not to mention all the Challenges held in companies, educational institutions and organizations throughout the year. Thanks to the tremendous generosity of participants, contributors and partners, Leucan is well on its way of reaching its provincial financial goal of raising $4.6 million in 2012.
