TORONTO, Sept. 2, 2015 /CNW/ - Canada's reigning queen of daytime returns weekdays at 10 a.m. ET, as THE MARILYN DENIS SHOW (@TheMarilynShow) kicks of its sixth season Monday, Sept. 7 on CTV and CTV GO (check local listings). New this season, THE MARILYN DENIS SHOW is set to take viewers on a special travel adventure, delivering a series of lifestyle segments from across Canada and around the world all season long. For the first time ever, the #1 Canadian lifestyle series goes international as Marilyn teams up with famed interior designer and TV personality Debbie Travis to travel to Debbie's historic Italian villa and farm in the heart of Southern Tuscany. The Sept. 7 episode features Travis co-hosting THE MARILYN DENIS SHOW live in-studio, as the duo takes viewers on their Tuscan adventure, showing highlights of the region, and sharing personal anecdotes, authentic recipes, and more.
What happens in Vegas also ends up on THE MARILYN DENIS SHOW, as the program heads to "Sin City" this season (Sept. 10) to give viewers a tour of Wayne Newton's million dollar ranch, courtesy of design expert Tommy Smythe. Tommy also jets to Copenhagen, Demark and Älmhult, Sweden this season to talk Scandinavian design influence (Nov. 12). Back on home soil, Marilyn's experts go on a road trip across Canada as Chef Rodney Bowers surprises one lucky viewer in Bedford, Nova Scotia with a pantry makeover (Sept. 8); celebrity chef Lynn Crawford heads east to Charlottetown for the program's first-ever live on-location cook-off between two local chefs (Sept. 17); Tommy Smythe also travels to Vancouver to showcase the latest décor trends stemming from the Interior Design Show West (IDSwest) (Oct. 1), and more.

In a career first, Marilyn Denis trades in her broadcasting skills for editorial thrills as the daytime host adds the title of guest editor to her resume for the November 2015 issue of Canadian Living magazine. Denis teams up with the nation's largest magazine for Canadian women in celebration of the magazine's 40th anniversary - which hits newsstands nationwide on Oct. 1. The celebration continues on-air in a special Canadian Living themed episode of THE MARILYN DENIS SHOW (Oct. 6) that pays tribute to the iconic magazine's 40th anniversary milestone and features a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the issue by Editor-In-Chief Sandra E. Martin. The special episode also takes viewers on a tour of Marilyn's Toronto home and features holiday entertaining tips from the magazine's Home & Garden Contributor Brett Walther, Fashion & Beauty Director Julia McEwen, and Food Director Annabelle Waugh, as well as etiquette tips from resident butler Charles MacPherson (a.k.a Charles the Butler).

Its highest-rated season to date, Season 5 of THE MARILYN DENIS SHOW averaged 275,000 viewers, up 22% versus its previous season, and up 37% versus Season 1. With a strong loyal following tuning in each week, the program's average weekly reach on CTV and CTV Two is 3.7 million combined. THE MARILYN DENIS SHOW also continues to attract new viewers and has seen double-digit percentage growth year-over-year among all key adult and female demos. Last season also delivered a series-high audience of 419,000 viewers (Feb. 16, 2015). THE MARILYN DENIS SHOW is set to celebrate an additional record this season, when it marks its 1,000th episode this November on CTV.
