BEERS FROM HERE AND ABOUT
If Quebec's soil can sometimes be considered as hostile for vines, we can honestly say the opposite for hops! Witness to the growth of Quebec's brewing industry, breweries, microbreweries and brewpubs have seen the light of day in every region except the great North (James Bay, Duplessis, Manicouagan, Nunavik). At the Mondial de la bière 2010, 28 companies will represent Quebec's brewing traditions and the craftbrewers' know-how from 12 regions of Quebec. The 232 Quebec beers offered at the festival represent 41% of all registered beers this year (Canada: 8 % - International: 51 %). The Mondial de la bière is without a doubt the meeting place for the curious, but also for beer lovers, neophytes, epicures and up to the finest connoisseur!
To complement your beer tastings, Biertrotters will have the opportunity of feasting on cheeses from the Quebec cheeses boutique of la Fédération des producteurs de lait du Québec or one of the 11 food kiosks where grilled meats, sausages, kangaroo, shrimps, stag, lobster sandwiches and more can be found!
MONDIAL DE LA BIÈRE APPLICATION
New this year, the Mondial bière's free application for iPhone is now available at Apple Store! This application gives Biertrotters the opportunity of getting information on the Mondial de la bière of Montreal and Strasbourg, to get geographic maps and directions, and also to participate in contests!
CONSUMER BEER CONTEST
The Consumer Beer Contest enables visitors to vote for their three favorite beers in the registered beers listing. By voting, "Biertrotters" get a chance to win one of three prizes, such as: a selection of beers offered by the Mondial de la bière, a prize valued at $300.
