The Montreal Manufacturing Technology Show: Equipping Quebec manufacturers to grow their business globally
MONTREAL, April 12, 2016 /CNW/ -- This May, more than 4,500 manufacturing professionals will connect with peers, education opportunities and innovative technologies presented by over 400 companies from around the world at SME's Montreal Manufacturing Technology Show (MMTS) – Quebec's premier event for the manufacturing sector.
MMTS 2016 takes place May 16 to 18, at Place Bonaventure, and offers a single gateway to breakthroughs and developments in machine tools, tooling, metalworking and advanced manufacturing, including additive manufacturing, automation and robotics, and design and software solutions.
A one-stop shop for boosting Quebec's competitive edge in over 20 industries
This three-day event is a unique opportunity for Quebec manufacturers to discover the latest high-tech innovations, network with industry leaders and peers, watch live machinery demonstrations and purchase cutting-edge equipment and solutions, many of which are being introduced to the Quebec market for the first time.
"MMTS is about equipping Quebec's manufacturing professionals with the information, products, technologies and networks they need to thrive here and in the global marketplace," said Julie Pike, event manager of MMTS for SME.
Exhibitors will provide solutions to attendees spanning over 20 industries, including aerospace, commercial and industrial machinery, automotive and transportation, mining, energy, medical and information communication technology.
From 3D printing to the latest developments in machining and tooling
In addition to renowned exhibitors like Elliott Matsuura, Machineries BV, Megatel, Mazak, and Haas Automation, MMTS 2016 offers three days of education and networking with industry leaders in machining and tooling, metalworking, additive manufacturing/3D printing, advanced manufacturing, automation and robotics, and workforce development.
Attendees will be able to attend a keynote presentation by Éric Tétrault, President of Quebec Manufacturers and Exporters (QME), who will speak to his vision for boosting Quebec's economic growth.
The technical education schedule also includes a special presentation by Deloitte on the Internet of Things and virtual reality, digital engineering simulations by MAYA, and other sessions from Rolls-Royce Canada, Germany's KUKA Robotics, and Concordia University, among many others.
Levelling the playing field for Quebec's small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)
SMEs Small and medium-sized manufacturers (companies with less than 50 employees) represent 90% of the province's 21,860 manufacturing establishments. MMTS gives these engines of Quebec's economy direct access to the resources they need to keep growing. The show's second day is dedicated to local smaller, specialized manufacturers ("job shops") to make it easier for them to source solutions and network with colleagues and potential customers.
