THE NACC CONGRATULATES BC GOVERNMENT ON COMMITMENT TO ELIMINATE PROVINCIAL
AVIATION FUEL TAX
OTTAWA, Sept. 20 /CNW/ - The National Airlines Council of Canada (NACC) commends the Government of British Columbia for taking steps to eliminate the provincial aviation fuel tax for international and transborder flights.
Air transportation is a key driver of economic growth, particularly in a globalized economy, because it facilitates business connections, tourism and travel.
"Any measures that make air transport more efficient and affordable are very welcome by the NACC. We encourage other governments to follow the example set by British Columbia and reduce or eliminate the various taxes, fees and other charges levied on our industry that not only impair Canadians' ability to travel but also reduce our economic prospects," said George Petsikas, President of the NACC.
The National Airlines Council of Canada is a trade association founded by Canada's largest commercial airlines in order to ensure safe, sustainable and competitive air travel for Canadian consumers.
