The Naked Truth on Trimming: Style Begins Before You Get Dressed
- More than 80% of Canadian women feel bikini line look and shape is important, according to the Schick® Quattro for Women® TrimStyle™ Survey -
TORONTO, Oct. 26 /CNW/ - The facts are in: a woman's style begins even before she gets dressed, whether it matches her outfit or anything but. A third of Canadian women (33%) say their bikini line style may be surprising because it is opposite of their fashion style, according to the Schick® Quattro for Women® TrimStyle™ Survey. Seventeen per cent of women say that although they dress conservatively, their bikini line is, in fact, the opposite and sixteen per cent say that although they dress trendy and edgy their bikini line is styled very conservatively. Whether conservative or edgy, more than a quarter (27%) of women say their bikini line reflects their fashion style.
Bikini trimming and styling is the latest trend. Among those who personalize their bikini line, nearly half of women say they sport a landing strip (47%) or Brazilian (42%) under their undies. The poll also revealed that more than half of Canadian women view bikini line maintenance as essential or very important to their grooming routine (55%), with 16% who say bikini line maintenance is as essential as brushing their teeth.

The survey revealed that women first learned about bikini line grooming by trying it themselves (49%), or from their mothers (46%), followed by friends (36%) and the media (35%).
How does your style take shape?
Among those women who personalize their bikini lines in particular shapes, the most popular shapes were the landing strip (47%), the Brazilian (42%) and the triangle (40%). While the landing strip is the most frequently mentioned shape respondents have tried, among all women who maintain their bikini lines, the Brazilian (37%) is more frequently mentioned as the shape they would like to try.
Look good, feel good
According to the poll, grooming has a positive effect on women's emotions. Most women say they groom or maintain their bikini lines because it makes them feel good (74%). Sixty per cent of women say that it makes them feel sexy, followed by making them feel confident (57%), beautiful (34%) and flirty (27%).
