Developed by the Montreal firm Behaviour Interactive, "The Road to Osheaga" powered by Virgin Mobile celebrates the Festival's 10th anniversary
MONTRÉAL, March 18, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - Virgin Mobile presents Osheaga Music and Arts Festival, in collaboration with Molson Canadian, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this summer from July 31 to August 2, and innovates once again with The Road to Osheaga powered by Virgin Mobile. Fans can use their iPhones, iPad or other smartphone or tablet to download the free append to learn about this year's lineup.
Initiated by evenko, creator and manager of Osheaga, the largest music and arts festival in Canada, The Road to Osheaga powered by Virgin Mobile will provide fans a fun and innovative way to discover the names of nearly 80 artists and groups who will participate in the festival's 2015 edition before the official announcement and on sale on March 24 at noon!
Developed by Behaviour Interactive, a Montreal firm and video game industry leader, "The Road to Osheaga" is an endless driver game in which Oshee and Aga, the Festival's mascots, drive through the city's streets behind the wheel of their convertible on their way to Osheaga 2015. By avoiding obstacles along the way, Oshee and Aga earn bonus "10th anniversary cake" points that will unlock a brief audio clip by the various groups and artists in attendance at Parc Jean-Drapeau this summer.
"The Osheaga team is very proud to be the first festival in North America to give such a gift to our fans to celebrate our 10th anniversary. With this game, fans can hear the music while discovering the artists and bands on the lineup, which is added value to their experience. We are glad to have found an original and fun way to bring together the world of arts and music with the gaming world, two complementary areas that are constantly making headlines and promoting the city of Montreal," said Nick Farkas, Vice-President, Concerts and Events at evenko.
This immersive experience has some surprises for the best drivers. Members of the Top 10 will be eligible for a draw of passes to attend the festival this year. The highest scorer will be crowned champion and will receive the Grand Prize which includes two Gold Passes, a 3 night stay in one of Osheaga's official accommodations and travel to Montreal from anywhere in the world!
This initiative by Osheaga's organisers, whose innovative efforts and pursuit of excellence have made the event's international reputation, is a "high five" to the faithful music and arts fans who have contributed to the Festival's incredible success for the last 10 years.
