Announced last evening at the Public Policy Forum's Testimonial Dinner, in Toronto, honouring Canada's former prime ministers, the Fellowship will be awarded to a Canadian thought-leader who will help lead the Forum in convening informed dialogue about public policy and Canadian institutions.
In this inaugural year, the Fellowship has been awarded to Mr. Peter MacKinnon, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Saskatchewan and Officer of the Order of Canada.
"I am delighted that we are establishing this very special Fellowship that will bring a prominent leader to the Forum each year to help us conduct research and convene policy dialogues," said Larry Murray, Chair of the Board of Directors of the Public Policy Forum.
David Mitchell, President & CEO of the Public Policy Forum, added, "I look forward to Mr. MacKinnon joining us as the first Prime Ministers of Canada Fellow.
