The Québec Entrepreneurship Contest presents the finalists for the "Population Prize - Gaz Metro, Powered by Rogers"

QUÉBEC CITY, June 3, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The Québec Entrepreneurship Contest is pleased to present the finalists for the "Population Prize - Gaz Métro, Powered by Rogers." With this annual prize, now being awarded for the second time, the Contest recognizes entrepreneurs whose exceptional entrepreneurial profiles, inspiring personalities and community leadership have set them apart. Seven (7) entrepreneurs or entrepreneurial teams are in the running for this award, that is, one finalist for each official category in the Business Creation division.

From June 1 to 19, 2013, members of the public can vote free of charge for their favourite entrepreneurs by texting or going on the Contest Web site. Details about the finalists and voting procedures are available at the following address: www.concours-entrepreneur.org. The Contest team hopes that members of the public will vote in large numbers!

The voting period will end at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19, 2013, the day of the 15^th Desjardins Grand Prize Gala. Before the Gala gets under way, the finalists will have one last opportunity to maximize their votes thanks to a special voting area equipped with electronic terminals. The results will be announced during the awards ceremony. The big winner will be featured in an ad published in Les Affaires magazine.

About the Contest
The Québec Entrepreneurship Contest is intended to support the development of entrepreneurship throughout Québec by rewarding concrete initiatives. The Student Entrepreneurship division encourages the development of projects that promote entrepreneurial values from the elementary level through to university. The QEC's Business Creation division encourages entrepreneurs who are in the early stages of launching a business. Upwards of one million people have participated in the over 60 000 projects that have been submitted in a 15-year period.

The Contest has the support of more than 40 partners, including the Mouvement Desjardins as a presenting partner, the Québec government, Rogers, Deloitte, Gaz Métro, the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, Les affaires magazine, the Barreau du Québec, the Fondation CPA, Saputo, the Association des CLD du Québec, Entrepreneuriat Québec, and the Réseau des SADC et CAE du Québec.
