THE QUEBEC OIL AND GAS ASSOCIATION HIRES A NEW DIRECTOR GENERAL
QUÉBEC, Sept. 2 /CNW Telbec/ - The Quebec Oil and Gas Association (QOGA) has announced that it has hired Stéphane Gosselin as Director General. Mr. Gosselin assumed his position on Monday, August 30.
This decision reflects the willingness of QOGA members to work under a Québec entity that will enable them to continue developing the industry according to the specific expectations of Québec communities and municipalities. There is no doubt that Mr. Gosselin can build and maintain ties with local stakeholders to ensure the industry's economic and sustainable development.
Before joining the QOGA, Mr. Gosselin held several positions, primarily within Québec ministerial cabinets. He was the Chief of Staff for the Ministre du Développement durable, de l'Environnement et des Parcs; the Ministre des Ressources naturelles et de la Faune; the Ministre des Affaires autochtones; and the Ministre du Développement économique, de l'Innovation et de l'Exportation.
Just before its first anniversary, the QOGA launched a major public awareness campaign to inform the population and field questions about the exploration and exploitation of shale gas in Québec. The QOGA will also meet with top municipal, environmental, union and economic representatives in the coming weeks.
The Quebec Oil and Gas Association (QOGA) was founded in April 2009. It represents and promotes the interests of a responsible industry that seeks to contribute to the energy diversification of Québec in a manner that is respectful to the environment and the communities. The mission of its members is to work at drawing full value from Québec's energy resources in a manner that will drive the province's economic development.
