To apply to the RCMP you must:
- Be a Canadian citizen,
- Be of good character,
- Be 19 years of age at the time of engagement (may apply at 18 years of age),
- Be proficient in English and/or in French,
- Possess a valid, unrestricted driver's licence,
- Possess a Canadian secondary school (high school) diploma or the equivalent,
- Meet the health and psychological standards (medical, vision, color and hearing),
- Meet the necessary level of physical abilities,
- Be prepared to carry a firearm and to use any necessary physical force,
- Be willing to relocate anywhere within Canada,
- Be willing to work shift work, including weekends and holidays.
