The Results Are In! Hip-Hop dance group Freshh and opera sensation Julie Lafontaine advance to finals on Canada's Got Talent during week 1 of semifinals

TORONTO, April 3, 2012 /CNW/ - Emotions ran high as the first group of semifinalists awaited their fate on Canada's Got Talent in the first-ever, live results show on Citytv earlier tonight. In a dramatic reveal, host Dina Pugliese delivered the news that the highest vote-getter of the night was seven-member dance group Freshh - earning them a guaranteed spot in the finals. Of the remaining six acts of the evening, the judges - Martin Short, Measha Brueggergosman, and Stephan Moccio - chose opera singer Julie Lafontaine to move on to the finale and join Freshh.
Additionally, the top two YouTube acts from the 'Last Chance Auditions,' sponsored by Nissan, were revealed, rounding out the complete list of semifinalists competing for both the judges' and Canada's votes. Joining the 37 previously announced semifinalists are: Caitlin Bell, 19 (Solo Singer), from Oakville, ON, receiving the most viewer votes, and Mathew Cathcart, 21 (Rapper), from Hamilton, ON, as selected by the judges.
