The Santa Claus Parade and Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Come Together For A Community Partnership.
TORONTO, Nov. 4, 2014 /CNW/ - Today at his secret workshop Santa Claus announced the magical new details of the 110th Santa Claus Parade, including exciting new floats, fun activities for the whole family prior to the parade.
This year, the Santa Claus Parade will have over 30 floats and 21 bands walking the streets of Toronto bringing the biggest and most festive parade Toronto has ever seen. After months of hard work, together with community partner Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, the Parade now has more sponsors and pre-Parade festivities than ever before, ensuring a robust experience for all spectators.
"The Santa Claus Parade means so much to the city of Toronto and is dedicated to providing joy and entertainment for all ages," says Peter Beresford, Santa Claus Parade President. "As a result of the partnership with MLSE we are able to bring the biggest parade ever to Toronto.
A fun pre-Parade activity for everyone to enjoy is the second annual Holly Jolly Fun Run, presented by Sport Chek, a 5 km run that will lead the way for Santa. Starting at noon on Parade day, the run will follow the Parade route and will end with a celebration at the Ford Fan Zone at Maple Leaf Square. Toronto Maple Leaf Alumnus Wendel Clark will also be on hand as the Run ambassador. All proceeds of the Holly Jolly Fun Run will support the Santa Claus Parade. The Parade will take place on Sunday, November 16, 2014 starting at 12:30pm. Thousands of kids and kids at heart will line the streets to see the inspiring new floats and welcome Santa Claus back to Toronto.
The Santa Claus Parade will travel the same route this year, beginning at Bloor and Christie, along Bloor to University, travelling down University to Wellington and ending at the intersection of Front and Jarvis Streets at the St. Lawrence Market. The 110th Annual Santa Claus Parade airs Sunday, November 16th beginning at 4:30pm ET/PT on CTV and 5:30pm AT on CTV Atlantic, and on CTV GO.
