The Shanghai Hospitality Design & Engineering Expo 2014 - the Perfect Gateway to China's Burgeoning Hotel Engineering Market
SHANGHAI, Aug. 13, 2013 /CNW/ - The hotel and tourism industries in China continue to grow at an impressive rate. Alongside accelerated urbanisation, the local hotel industry is becoming more competitive and international hotel groups are making inroads into China. The market will be worth RMB 295 billion this year, and the year-on-year growth rate will reach 9.26%. At present, there are 1,700 star-rated hotels under construction. This has generated an increased turnover for those placed to provide quality service to the expanding fields of hotel and hospitality. Meanwhile, the application of new technologies and innovative products has become an ongoing process in the construction and refurbishment of hotels.

With the strong support of the China Tourist Hotel Association and the Alliance of China Hotel Owners, the Shanghai Hospitality Design & Engineering Expo (abbreviated as HDE) is organised by UBM Sinoexpo and will be held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from 31 March to 3 April 2014, providing engineering, design and overall project solutions to hotels, clubs, resorts, bars, chambers, villas, and correlated engineering businesses.
More than 400 leading exhibitors from across the world will bring the full spectrum of imaging technologies and applications to the hospitality engineering and design community, including FF&E, lighting, sanitary ware and hardware, appliances and furnishings, engineering and IT services, health and fitness equipment, architectural planning and interior design, garden and landscape design, as well as security and surveillance equipment.
- An annual assembly bringing Asia's hospitality community together.
Once again HDE 2014 will be co-located with the HDD (Hotelex + Design & Deco) Expo, which is the top sourcing show and interaction platform dedicated to hospitality products and facilities, as well as design and decoration solutions. It caters to merchandisers, contractors, architects and interior designers, with the participation of 2,800 global exhibitors and over 100,000 qualified visitors from the hospitality and building industries, all inside 17 exhibition halls offering 200,000 sqm of space.
With the adoption of a VIP-only entrance policy for high-profile visitors, HDE targets hotel designers, developers, project traders and other relevant professionals. As an annual assembly bringing Asia's hospitality community together to share business opportunities in China's burgeoning market, HDE attracts the major decision-makers and buyers from the hotel, real estate, design and decoration industries, including names such as Hilton, Starwood, IHG, Sun Hung Kai, Wanda, Greenland, Poly, HBA, Willson, Hassell, Gensler, CCDI, Goldmantis, and many more. - Be inspired by effective interaction with qualified architects and designers.
Running alongside HDE 2014, the China (Shanghai) International Building and Interior Design Festival (abbreviated as IDF) will be another highlight providing inspiration, innovation and opportunities for businesses involved in the design, construction and decoration of fine space through a blend of high-level design forums, competitions, and displays. A great deal of well-known and forward-thinking design gurus such as Marco Piva, Nathalie de Vries, Adam Khan, David Archer, Christophe Egret and Chiara Cantono were invited to make stirring speeches to share their views on the application of advanced technology and future design trends. It will also provide a unique and exciting opportunity for brands to introduce themselves to the biggest and most exciting names in the global design community.
- Share your innovative ideas and new products in "Hotel Plus 2014".
"Hotel Plus 2014" will be one of the most popular features and innovative exhibition spaces at HDE, profiling the latest in hotel-room technology in a fully functioning room built on the show floor.
