Chicks CAN Fly - And they're taking the plunge for kids with disabilities!
OTTAWA, Sept. 20 /CNW/ - The CFC Flying Chicks are rappelling down an 18-storey building on September 27th for a great cause - to raise money for Easter Seals.
Who says chickens can't fly? Our intrepid "super birds" are raising money for kids with physical disabilities and challenging other participants too. The team's goal is to raise $6,000 by the time they get the flock off the tower.
Chicken Farmers of Canada's three Flying Chicks are:
- Paula Doucette, Manager of Human Resources
- Lisa Riopelle, Administration Coordinator
- Stephanie St. Pierre, Designer/Web Administrator
This high-flying fundraiser is the brainchild of the Easter Seals and Ottawa is the newest addition to the Drop Zone fraternity, which also takes place in 10 other Canadian cities. Proceeds from the Ottawa Drop Zone will support Ontario Easter Seals activities in the coming year.
Since 2005, more than 2,300 superheroes have raised more than $3.76 million for Canadian kids with disabilities. The goal for the Drop Zone is to raise $1 million in 2010 - that's not chicken feed!
So, swing by on September 27th to see the CFC Flying Chicks in the Drop Zone.
Look for the ones all chicked out in red capes, red masks, sweatshirts and beaks.
Yes, beaks!
