The Snow Village is back at Parc Jean-drapeau… For the entire winter and for the Fête des neiges de Montréal Français
MONTREAL, Nov. 21, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - The Société du parc Jean-Drapeau is proud to announce it will be welcoming the Snow Village for the second straight year. The official opening of the magnificent ice and snow complex at Parc Jean-Drapeau will coincide, - just a few days apart - with the start of the 30th edition of Fête des neiges de Montréal. This has all the makings of loads of winter fun for visitors that come to the Parc in January, 2013.
"The return of the Snow Village is great news for Parc Jean-Drapeau," remarked Daniel Blier, the executive director of the Société du parc Jean-Drapeau. "This is a partnership which is in keeping with our desire to offer a diversified winter program. The success of the Snow Village highlights the quality of the facilities and the services Parc Jean-Drapeau offers to promoters, along with demonstrating the versatility and strategic location of our site. Our partnership with the Snow Village also becomes an outstanding showcase for Parc Jean-Drapeau."
Winter will undoubtedly be in tune with the Fête des neiges de Montréal, which begins on January 19 for three weekends featuring its wide array of family activities, its friendly mascot, Boule de Neige, and its many characters who will be enlivening the site and, of course, the Snow Village. Meanwhile, all winter long, Parc Jean-Drapeau will be setting up four kilometres of snowshoeing and cross-country ski trails and providing an equipment rental service for visitors. Dog-sled rides and guided tours of the Parc on snowshoes are among the other activities available to visitors.
The mission of the Société du parc Jean-Drapeau is to manage, administrate, develop, protect and animate Parc Jean-Drapeau. It also produces the Fête des neiges de Montréal. Information about the Parc's activities can be found by going to the parcjeandrapeau.com website.
