The Source invites customers to join in support of Kids Help Phone - initiative aims to make a difference in the lives of Canadian youth Français
BARRIE, ON, April 6, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - The Source today announced the return of its checkout campaign in support of Kids Help Phone, Canada's only national charity that provides 24/7 professional counselling services to young people across Canada. Starting today, through to Sunday, May 7, 2017, customers who shop at The Source retail locations are invited to donate a toonie at the checkout to help Kids Help Phone support young people across the country.
The Source partnership with Kids Help Phone is in its fifth year, raising more than one million dollars to date, thanks to generous donations from its associates, vendor partners and customers.
"The enthusiasm and engagement our associates and vendor partners have shown for this important cause becomes more remarkable as the years go by," said Charles Brown, President, The Source.
In addition to the checkout campaign, The Source and its associates will participate in the "Walk so Kids Can Talk" event taking place on May 7, 2017. The money raised will ensure that Kids Help Phone can continue to be a source of inspiration for young people across Canada.
"Kids in Canada know they can reach out to Kids Help Phone, and more importantly they know that they can trust us to be there for them in any moment of crisis or need. It's only because of generous supporters like The Source that we're able to help young people 24 hours a day, 7 days a week," said Sharon Wood, President and CEO, Kids Help Phone.
Kids Help Phone is proud to recognize that Charles Brown has been the highest individual fundraiser in Canada for the past five years, and every year a generous portion of the money donated on behalf of The Source has been personally raised by Mr. Brown, The Source President and Kids Help Phone Vice Chair.
"I've been involved with Kids Help Phone for 10 years," said Mr. Brown. I've been an active ambassador for the cause and advocate in the positive influence it has on youth in Canada. As a Canadian retailer we are proud to be involved with Kids Help Phone and raising awareness for such a worthwhile cause. We want to continue helping our youth and ensuring they have the 24/7 professional counselling needed to improve their emotional health and general well-being."
In addition to The Source checkout campaign, donations are also being accepted until May 31st at www.walksokidscantalk.ca.
